Mother Bhumi scored eight nominations at the 62nd Golden Horse Awards, including Best Narrative Feature, Best Director, Best Leading Actress, Best Sound Effects, Best Cinematography, Best Makeup & Costume Design, Best Original Film Score, and Best Original Film Song.

In addition, the Movie was selected for the main competition at the 38th Tokyo International Film Festival, where it will also have its World Premiere.

Directed by award-winning Malaysian filmmaker Chong Keat Aun, Mother Bhumi is a Malaysia–Hong Kong–Italy co-production movie, starring Fan Bingbing with Natalie Hsu, Bai Run-yin, and Pearlly Chua. The Movie is set in the late 1990s in a rural area of northern Malaysia near the Thai border, where multiple ethnic groups coexist. Amid ongoing rice-field disputes and rising unrest, Hong Im, a widowed Chinese-Siamese farmer and ritual healer, transformed into Mother Bhumi, confronting the colonial wounds embedded deep within the land. The official trailer of the Movie has been unveiled today.
