유니온페이, 중국 본토에서 위챗페이 QR 코드 결제 지원하는 국제 전자지갑 25개로 확대

[ 메디채널 황정호 기자 ] 상하이, 2026년 1월 29일 -- 태국인 관광객 나리(Naree)씨는 최근 상하이를 방문해 동네 카페에서 커피를 사며 평소 태국에서 사용하던 K PLUS 모바일 지갑으로 위챗페이(Weixin Pay) QR 코드를 스캔해 간편하게 결제했다. 나리씨의 모바일 지갑이 태국에서 발급된 유니온페이(UnionPay) 카드와 연동돼 있었기 때문이다. 이제 중국 본토를 방문하는 11개 국가 및 지역의 해외 방문객들도 나리씨처럼 매끄러운 모바일 결제 경험을 누릴 수 있다. 유니온페이 인터내셔널(UnionPay International)과 위챗페이(WeChat으로도 알려짐)의 협업을 통해, 유니온페이와 제휴한 국제 전자지갑 25개가 새롭게 지원된다. 사용자는 각 전자지갑에서 현지 발급 유니온페이 카드를 연동하거나 디지털 유니온페이 카드를 활성화하기만 하면 중국 본토 전역의 음식점, 상점, 대중교통 시스템 등에서 위챗페이 또는 유니온페이 QR 코드를 스캔해 결제할 수 있다. 결제 금액은 자국 통화에서 위안화로 자동 환전되므로 별도의 추가 앱을 다운로드하지 않아도 된다. 국가/지역별 지원 국제 전자지갑 25개
